Stephen Hotz is a visionary executive with over 25 years of leadership across the energy, healthcare, and hospitality sectors. As CEO of LED Energy Solutions LLC, he has guided the company through a phase of strategic expansion, operational excellence, and innovation—all while remaining steadfast in his commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical business practices.
Known for building high-impact teams and delivering measurable results, Stephen combines a data-driven mindset with a deep belief in the power of trust, accountability, and culture. His leadership has elevated LED Energy’s presence across key markets and positioned the company at the forefront of the zero net energy movement.
Before entering the energy space, Stephen held senior operational roles at Morrison Healthcare and Boston Market, where he was honored with multiple national awards for performance and leadership. His early foundation in hospitality taught him the value of service, resilience, and continuous improvement—principles that continue to guide his work today.
Outside the boardroom, Stephen led a Business Network International (BNI) chapter through a period of transformative growth, more than doubling its size and tripling its collaborative revenue. He remains active in the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, B.O.M.A., and the Sustainable Business Roundtable, helping shape policy and practice in the energy and building efficiency sectors.
Stephen holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Mercyhurst University and has consistently been recognized for outstanding leadership, innovation, and results. He is a three-time recipient of Boston Market’s prestigious Summit Award, reflecting his ability to drive operational excellence and lead high-performing teams across multiple markets. He has twice earned the Sustainable Round Table Silver Award for advancing clean energy practices and sustainable business models. Most notably, Stephen led LED Energy Solutions to receive the 2022 Board of Directors Choice Award for the company’s landmark project with the City of Dunkirk—a transformative initiative that significantly reduced municipal energy usage and positioned the city as a model for clean energy adoption. He is a tireless advocate for the zero net energy model, working to reshape how industries approach energy use through innovation, education, and partnership.
